Stella Gonet, a Scottish actress for theatre, film, and television, was born on December 12, 1960. Her roles in the BBC series Holby City (2007–09) and The House of Eliott (1991–94) have made her famous. In the original West End production of Handbagged (2014), she played Margaret Thatcher, opposite Ian Charleson and Daniel Day-Lewis as Hamlet, and as Ophelia in the 1989 National Theatre revival of Hamlet. In the 2021 film Spencer, she portrayed Queen Elizabeth II, and in the 2023 film El Conde, she portrayed Margaret Thatcher.
