Sreerama Chandra Mynampati, born on January 19, 1986, in Addanki, Andhra Pradesh, India, gained prominence as the winner of the fifth season of Indian Idol. Hailing from a Telugu-speaking Brahmin family, he developed a passion for singing at an early age despite a non-musical background. Sreerama Chandra started his playback singing career at 17 in the Telugu film industry, with his talent being recognized by music director Mickey J Meyer after participating in ETV’s Sye.
Educated at St. Andrews School, Bowenpally, Secunderabad, and later obtaining a BTech degree from the Royal Institute of Technology and Science (RITS), he also pursued a certificate course in Carnatic vocal. His debut song, “Chirugalithone Adiga,” came from the movie “Notebook.”
In 2013, Sreerama Chandra made his acting debut in Telugu cinema with “Jagadguru Adi Shankara” and played the lead in “Prema Geema Jantha Nai.” He entered the reality TV show Bigg Boss Telugu Season 5 in 2021, finishing as the 2nd runner-up.
