Shilpa Shirodkar

Biography:

Indian actress and former photo model Shilpa Shirodkar was born on November 20, 1973, and from 1989 to 2000, she mostly acted in Hindi-language movies. Following a 13-year break, she returned to acting in 2013, this time on television in the Zee TV series Ek Mutthi Aasmaan.  She took part in Bigg Boss 18 in 2024.

Shirodkar made her screen début as a blind girl in Ramesh Sippy’s 1989 film Bhrashtachar, starring Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha.  In the popular 1990 movie Kishen Kanhaiya, she costarred with Anil Kapoor. She starred in hit movies the next year, including Hum (1991) and Trinetra (1991). She starred in a number of other popular movies, including Mrityudand (1997), Khuda Gawah (1992), Aankhen (1993), Pehchaan (1993), Gopi Kishan (1994), and Bewafa Sanam (1995). After being married, she made the decision to give up performing, and the 2000 movie Gaja Gamini was her final appearance. For Khuda Gawah, she received a 1993 Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.  Fans enjoyed Shilpa and Mithun Chakraborty’s on-screen duo in their nine movie together.

After taking a 13-year break from show business to raise her family in London, she returned to television in 2013 after relocating to Mumbai. For her comeback, Zed TV’s new series Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, which is based on the lives of domestic assistants, the first location for filming was a suburb of Delhi. Late in 2014, the series came to an end. Silsila Pyar Ka, her second television series, debuted on Star Plus on January 4, 2016. It concluded in June, six months later . Savitri Devi College & Hospital, a Colors TV series, featured her from May 2017 to September 2018. Her cinematic career resumed in February 2020, appearing in a supporting role in Guns of Banaras, a 2014 film that had been postponed for six years.
