An Indian music composer and businessman is Shashwat Sachdev. His score for Uri: The Surgical Strike earned him the 66th National Film Awards’ Best Background Music prize. The 65th Filmfare R.D. Burman Award for outstanding new and young talent went to him as well.
Jaipur is where Sachdev was born. At the age of three, he began studying music, starting with Hindustani classical rhythm and voice. During his school years, he continued to train in Western classical piano.
Before relocating to India in 2016, Shashwat began his career in Hollywood, Los Angeles, in 2011 and worked on a number of projects there. He composed the soundtrack for the 2017 film Phillauri, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Anushka Sharma.
He wrote four songs for the 2018 Bollywood female buddy comedy Veere Di Wedding, which was helmed by Shashanka Ghosh. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania are the film’s main actors. He composed music for the Indian Netflix Original Sports web series Selection Day, which was adapted on the same-titled 2016 book by Aravind Adiga. Anand Tucker and Anil Kapoor served as producers.
