Sadhana, better known by her stage name Shari, is a distinguished Indian actress who made a significant mark in the film industry from 1982 to 1995. She was a prominent lead actress in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu films during this period.
Born to Subramaniam and Lakshmi Devi in Andhra Pradesh, Sadhana possesses a strong foundation in classical dance. She received training in Bharata Natyam from Padma Subrahmanyam and in Kuchipudi from Vempati Chinna Satyam. Her early education took place at Saraswathi Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai. Additionally, she carries the illustrious legacy of being the granddaughter of the renowned Kannada actress B. Ramadevi.
In 1991, Sadhana entered into matrimony with Kumar, a businessman, and the couple welcomed a daughter named Kalyani in 1996. The family currently resides in Chennai.
Sadhana’s career soared to new heights following her role in “Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal” (1986), for which she received the Kerala State Film Award. In the Tamil film industry, she is recognized as Sadhana. Her journey began in 1982 with a supporting role in “Hitler Umanath,” where she portrayed Sivaji Ganesan’s daughter. However, she gained widespread recognition for her performance as the lead heroine opposite actor Mohan in “Nenjathai Allitha” (1984), marking a turning point in her career.
