Shailesh Lodha

Biography:

Shailesh Lodha is an Indian poet, writer, comedian, and actor who was born on November 8, 1969.  His role as Taarak Mehta in the Hindi sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is what made him most famous.

Lodha was born into a Marwari family in Jodhpur. Lodha has a daughter named Swara and is married to management author Swati Lodha. Lodha traveled extensively because his father was transferred to many locations. His mother had a strong Hindi vocabulary and loved to read. Lodha was known as “Baal Kavi” when she was nine years old. He worked in an office, but he quit to pursue his passion, which is poetry writing. “I am half Jain,” Lodha stated in a 2015 interview.

Lodha participated in Comedy ka Mahamukabla after first appearing as a contender on Comedy Circus. From 2008 to 2022, he played Taarak Mehta in the comedic series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Lodha was the primary host of the SAB TV show Wah! Wah! Kya Baat Hai! from 2012 to 2013. He costarred alongside Sunil Pal and Rakhi Sawant in the 2019 comedy Wig Boss.

Lodha sued producer Asit Kumarr Modi in 2022 for unpaid debts and his production firm, Neela Tele Films. The decision was rendered in favor of Lodha on August 5, 2023.
