Biography:

Shaad Ali is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter who operates mainly in the Hindi film industry. The protégé of famous filmmaker Mani Ratnam, Shaad Ali made his directorial debut with Saathiya (2002), which was a success both critically and commercially and helped establish him as one of Bollywood’s best directors. Further, he directed successful films including Bunty Aur Babli, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Kill Dil, OK Jaanu, Soorma, and Call My Agent: Bollywood. On the digital front, Shaad Ali directed crime thriller web series Bloody Brothers (2022), which is an Indian version of the British show Guilt. For his visually elegant direction, story-telling prowess, and his unique method of using music in his films, Shaad Ali has established himself as one of the most successful filmmakers of modern India with a career spanning over two decades.
