Biography:

Sendhil Thyagarajan, also known as Senthil Thyagarajan, is an talented Indian film producer. He was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Sendhil is best known for his Vivegam (2017), Maaran (2022) and Captain Miller (2023). Apart, Sendhil also will be a produce of the new upcoming Indian movie Veeran (2023). Sendhil has invested his money in several famous films, including Thodari (2016), Vivegam (2017), Kaathadi (2010), and Sathriyan (2017).

Mr. Thyagarajan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Loyola College, where he was part of the championship-winning Athletics team. He then transferred to California State University on a sports scholarship to compete in Track and Field and pursue a Master’s degree in Finance. Under the guidance of former US Olympic coach Charles Craig, he excelled as an all-conference performer in sprints and relays. Later, he obtained an advanced Master’s degree in International Trade and Economics from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. At a junior level, he represented the state in athletics and basketball, captained the Tamil Nadu Men’s rugby team at National Games and other championships, and played internationally. Currently, he is pursuing academic and research interests in international trade from a historical perspective.

Sendhil Thyagarajan is a versatile entrepreneur and sports administrator. He serves as the founding executive director of Amrish Oncology Services, a subsidiary of US-based CBCC, operating one of India’s largest networks of Oncology and Radiation centers since 2006. Additionally, he holds a managing partnership at Sathya Jyothi Films, his family-owned production company, renowned for producing award-winning blockbuster films and television series for over four decades. As a third-generation film producer, his recent productions, Viswasam and Pattas, featuring Ajith Kumar and Dhanush respectively, were not only major box office hits but also set records in television viewership with over 150 million impressions. He has diversified into the legal and fintech sectors, investing in a company specializing in Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) modalities. Given the rising popularity of sports entertainment in India, he has ventured into setting up sports infrastructure and leagues, including Kabaddi. He chairs the upcoming Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Kabaddi League and plans to launch collegiate and university leagues for sports deeply rooted in Indian culture, such as Kabaddi and Volleyball.
