Biography:

Sarayu is a prominent Indian film actress, has established herself primarily in the Malayalam film industry and television. Her noteworthy performances in various films have garnered her widespread recognition. Making her film debut in “Kappal Muthalaali” in 2009, Sarayu received positive reviews for her portrayal, despite the film’s average reception. Additionally, she has showcased her talents in music albums like “Kungumam,” “Monchulla Painkili,” and “Sooryakanthi.”

Born and raised in Kannur, India, Sarayu Mohan is the cherished daughter of the late Mohan and Chandrika. Her father hails from Chottanikkara town, while her mother is from Kannur. Sarayu pursued her education at Our Lady Convent School and later completed her schooling and higher secondary education at Maharajas College. Subsequently, she earned a degree in Literature from Annamalai University.

Commencing her career with minor roles in films like “Veruthe Oru Bharya” and “Chakkara Muthu,” Sarayu transitioned to lead roles and gained significant acclaim with her debut film “Kappal Muthalaali,” directed by Thaha. Her filmography expanded with roles in “Chekavar,” portraying Gauri, and “Sahasram,” where she shared the screen with Bala. Further adding to her repertoire, Sarayu took on a negative role in “Four Friends” alongside Kunjakko Boban.

She also featured in films such as “Kanvakumari Express,” directed and produced by SureshBabu, and “Inganeyum Oraal.” In “Karayilekku Oru Kadel Dooram,” she essayed the role of Indrajith’s wife, showcasing her versatility across various roles. Beyond her acting prowess, Sarayu ventured into directing with the film “Pacha,” featuring the voice of actress Bhama. In this endeavor, she not only directed but also acted and produced the film. Sarayu even contributed to the film by penning a song.
