Santonio Terzio is an adaptable cinematographer who has contributed to several Indian feature films. Born in Portugal, he first resided in Goa before relocating to Chennai to pursue his cinema studies. He began production on his first short film, Adayalam, in 2001.
It was selected as the Europe Film Festival’s best cinematography. Since then, Santonio has contributed to the production of movies including Well Done Baby, Vedha, Dhik Dhik, Yuva, Anthony Yaar, Murattu Kaalai, and Aadu Magaadra Bujji.
Additionally, he worked as a second unit DOP for Prabhu Deva’s film Villu. For his work on the 2016 Marathi film 1234, Santonio was awarded a second international distinction at the KIFF International Film Festival.
He collaborated with renowned Indian music composer A.R. Rahman on a music video. Santonio, who resides in London, won best cinematography awards at the 2022 European Cinematographers Awards and the New York Cinematographers Award for his work on Philip Shaw’s short film Musketeer.
