Indian actress Sangita Madhavan Nair primarily worked in the Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada cinema industries during the 1990s.
The actress got the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performance as Shyamala in Sreenivasan’s written and directed film Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala.[Reference required] She is also well-known for playing Nirmala Mary in Poove Unakkaga, actor Vijay’s breakout picture.
In the 1978 Malayalam film Snehikkan Oru Pennu, she made her acting debut as a young artist. En Rathathin Rathame, the Tamil version of the Hindi film Mr. India, was her first film as a child artist. Ellame En Rasathan, which debuted in 1995, was the first role she played as a heroine.
Her mother, Padma, from Kuzhalmannam, Palakkad, and father, Madhavan Nair, from Kottakkal, Malappuram, settled in Chennai, and she was born the youngest of their four children. The family relocated to Chennai when her father moved there for business related to fruit. Sri Gujarati Vid Matriculation School in Chennai was her primary school. She has a brother named Nitheesh and two sisters named Mallika and Charu. In her unreleased film Punniyavathi, her brother played a supporting role.
