Sangeeth Sivan was an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter who worked in the Malayalam and Hindi cinema industries from 1958/59 to May 8, 2024.
Vyooham (1990), Yodha (1992), Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005), and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2013) are his most well-known films.
Sivan’s career began when he was hired by Basu Bhattacharya as executive producer of his son’s first feature film, Raakh, which starred Pankaj Kapur and Aamir Khan. [3] Soon after, he made his directorial debut with Raghuvaran’s hit Malayalam movie Vyooham. He gained national notoriety for his second film, Yodha.
He helmed his debut Bollywood movie, Zor, which starred Sunny Deol, after directing over six Malayalam films. Despite the film’s poor box office performance, several producers were impressed with Sivan’s directing skills. Following a short hiatus, he began work on Sandhya, starring Jackie Shroff, and Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne, starring Pantaloon.
After suffering a heart arrest, Sivan passed away on May 8, 2024, at the age of 65, At the time of his death, he was directing the Hindi version of the Malayalam movie Romancham, Kapkapiii.
