Actor Samuel Adewunmi was born in the United Kingdom in 1994. For his performance in the 2019 movie The Last Tree, he was nominated for Best Actor and won Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards. His performance in the BBC drama You Don’t Know Me (2021) earned him a BAFTA nomination.
Adewunmi’s single Nigerian Yoruba mother, a cook, gave birth to him in Camden, London. He and his brother grew up on the Maiden Lane Estate, which was used for the filming of Tin Luck, located just north of King’s Cross and St Pancras stations. In his third year, he was introduced to drama through a school performance, and at the age of eight, he presented a community play at the Camden People’s Theatre. Identity School of Acting was his training ground.
