Samir Kochhar, an Indian actor and television presenter, gained prominence as the host of the pre-match Indian Premier League show, Extraaa Innings T20. He is currently featured in Netflix India’s Sacred Games. Kochhar embarked on his career by co-anchoring Doordarshan’s AIDS awareness cum travel show, Haath Se Haath Mila, alongside Sugandha Garg. His Bollywood debut came in 2003 with Sumeer Sabharwal’s bilingual film Valentine Days.
Kochhar stepped into television with Dangerous, a talk show focusing on sex, aired on Zoom. He portrayed Rajat Kapur in the soap opera Bade Acche Lagte Hain. His film journey includes roles in Mohit Suri’s Zeher (2005) and the thriller Jannat (2008), where he portrayed a police inspector.
His participation in Island City, directed by Ruchika Oberoi, garnered praise at the Venice International Film Festival and the JIO MAMI Film Festival 2015. He is also set to appear in Mango Dreams, directed by American filmmaker John Unchurch. Kochhar is associated with the Celebrity Cricket League team Mumbai Heroes.
In 2016, Kochhar had two commercial releases, Housefull 3 with Akshay Kumar and Mango Dreams, and Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna with Karanvir Bohra, directed by Lalit Mohan, slated for release in 2018.
Born on May 23, 1980, Kochhar married his longtime partner, Radhika, on January 9, 2010. They welcomed their first child, a son named Kabir, in April 2015, followed by a daughter named Sara in October 2017.
