Norwegian actor Rune Temte was born on September 29, 1965, and is most recognised for his parts in Eddie the Eagle and The Last Kingdom. In the 2019 Marvel Studios superhero movie Captain Marvel, he played Bron-Char. Temte, who was born and reared in Solbergelva, a suburb of Oslo, started playing football at the age of seven and signed his first professional contract at the age of eighteen. Temte spent five seasons as a member of Strømsgodset and won player of the year in 1988.
Temte decided to give up football after five years with Strømsgodset in order to focus on his first passion, acting, while also studying economics. Temte trained at the Drama Studio London in 1993–1994. He played football for Tooting and Mitcham United F.C. during his training.
Temte participated in bandy as well, representing both the under-19 Norway national bandy team and the club Solberg SK. Temte was a midfielder for the Norwegian squad that won the bronze in the 1984 Bandy World Championship Y-19 in Vänersborg, Sweden.
