Rony David Raj

Biography:

Rony David Raj, an Indian actor and physician, is primarily known for his work in Malayalam cinema. In 2023, he appeared in the Mammootty-led film Kannur Squad. His passion for acting began in childhood. He made his debut in the Malayalam film industry with Pachakuthira (2006) and later featured as a gang member in Chotta Mumbai (2007). His portrayal of Naik Sasi in Kurukshetra (2008) earned widespread acclaim.

In 2009, he played Eeshwar in Daddy Cool, followed by a supporting role as Arun in Sakudumbam Shyamala (2010), alongside Kunchako Boban. He made a cameo as an arguing husband in the bilingual film Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram (2014), released in Tamil as Vaayai Moodi Pesavum.

Rony portrayed Rahul in the 2015 short film Open Your Mind. His role as Chacko Sir in Aanandam (2016) received significant praise. In 2019, he appeared as a Church Father in the short film The Confession. He featured in the 2020 ad film Priyappetta Sarammakk for English Lakshya, an online English learning platform.

In 2021, he acted in the drama-thriller Raman Effect and shared the screen with Suraj Venjaramoodu in Roy, where he played SI Suresh. In Kannur Squad (2023), he also contributed as a co-screenplay writer and played CPO Jayakumar P. Vasu (Jayan). The same year, he starred as Mohan in Pazhanjan Pranayam.

Rony has been part of several other Malayalam films, including Chocolate (2007), Aagathan (2010), Polytechnic (2014), Thrissivaperoor Kliptham (2017), Kaanekkaane (2021), 2018 (2023), and Nalla Nilavulla Rathri (2023). Before pursuing a full-time acting career, he served as a physician at KIMS Hospital in Kerala.
