Ravi Udywar is an advertisement filmmaker, artist, and illustrator who won a gold medal at the JJ School of Arts in Mumbai. His career took a different turn when he created the music video for Silk Route’s song “Dooba Dooba.” At the age of 25, Ravi directed the first underwater music video in India.
Before he knew it, he had worked as an illustrator and painter at advertising firms, creating visuals for MTV and Channel V. He then went on to make commercial films. After years of wanting to make his feature film debut, Ravi made his breakthrough in 2017 with the Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sridevi film Mom, which focuses on the complex mother-daughter relationship. Well-known works by Ravi Udyawar include Mom (2017), Yudhra (2024), and Untitled Mrunal Thakur/Siddhant Chatuvedi Project.
