Rathi Arumugam

Rathi, an Indian actress predominantly active in Tamil and Telugu cinema, hails from Bangalore, Karnataka, born to Tamil parents Arumugam and Bharani. She pursued dentistry at Mathrushri Ramabai Ambedkar Dental College and Hospital in Bangalore while also excelling as a trained classical dancer, having showcased her talents in Arangetram.

Her cinematic journey commenced with the 2002 Tamil film “Gummalam,” where she marked her debut alongside Cheran in Thangar Bachan’s “Solla Marandha Kadhai.” Despite subsequent appearances in Tamil films like “Adi Thadi” opposite Sathyaraj, her stint in Tamil cinema didn’t yield commercial success. She notably featured in an item number in the Tamil movie “Anjaneya,” starring Ajith Kumar.

Transitioning to Telugu cinema, Rathi contributed her talent to six films, expanding her footprint across regional cinema. Balancing her acting career with academic pursuits, she achieved a bachelor’s degree in genetics, showcasing her dedication to both her artistic and educational endeavors.

Beyond the silver screen, Rathi made headlines with her appearance as a special guest at the ‘Euphoria 03’ event held at PSG College of Arts and Science in 2003, captivating audiences with her presence.
