Rasu Ranjith

Biography:

Rasu Ranjith is an Indian filmmaker, writer, editor, and actor operating mostly in the Tamil film and OTT entertainment industry. This artist became popular after winning the television filmmaking reality show Naalaya Iyakkunar, which marked the beginning of his directing career. He had his film debut with the crime movie Theethum Nandrum (2021), where he was the writer, director, editor, and leading actor, demonstrating the diversity of his artistic skills. In addition, he had directed a drama-thriller web series for Disney+ Hotstar called Parachute (2024) which received good reviews for its emotionally intense storyline and realistic depiction of family relations as seen by children.

The director uses realism, credible acting, and emotional intensity of characters’ relationships in both films and web series to create stories full of drama. Most of his work has themes related to family, morality, survival, and redemption, which make his approach to directing very character-based.
