Edurolu Raju, a renowned cinematographer from Tollywood, hails from Hyderabad, Telangana, India. His journey into the world of filmmaking began in 1993 when he discovered his passion for the craft. Since then, he has traversed various realms of visual storytelling, including documentaries, TV shows, commercials, and other film projects worldwide. With a decade of experience under his belt, Raju commenced his professional journey in January 1999 as a cameraman at the “HYDERABAD RACE CLUB,” where he was part of a fifteen-member team responsible for producing and shooting live programs covering horse racing events.
In February 2002, Raju joined the “JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES,” a nonprofit Christian organization, where he served as the Director of Photography for TV productions. Over the course of his tenure, he traveled to eighteen countries, overseeing four teams, which provided him with invaluable exposure and propelled his career forward. Subsequently, in March 2002, he assumed the role of Consultant-Director of Photography at 4BMEDIA-PROGRESSIVE MEDIA VISION, where he contributed his expertise for eleven years across various projects, including documentaries, corporate videos, short stories, and events.
Currently freelancing, Raju continues to make his mark as a DOP, with notable projects such as “Social Butterfly (Mumbai)” BTS video, Diamond Manufactures Promotional Video, The Journey for company Stories, and CAIRN INDIA Ltd (Rajasthan) Internal Video for White Elephant Productions, among others. Beyond his professional pursuits, Raju finds solace in capturing the essence of nature, indulging in music, and exploring different corners of the globe. Known for his artistic flair, Raju has lent his cinematographic expertise to several acclaimed Indian movies, including “Restore Gulu,” a documentary film focusing on the Army, “Manasa Namaha (2020),” a short comedy reflecting on nature lovers, “Llpi (2019),” a sci-fi short about a telegraph operator connecting with his future self, and “Dagudu Muthalu (2016),” a horror short centered around a character named John isolating himself in a haunting room.
With a natural inclination towards perfectionism, Raju is often dubbed “the perfectionist of Cinematography.” His dedication to his craft is unwavering, always striving to create cinematic moments where composition and lighting complement the performance seamlessly.
