Chuda Bahadur Hamal and Renu KC welcomed Rajesh Hamal into the world on June 9, 1964, in Tansen, Nepal. Chuda Bahadur Hamal, his father, served as Nepal’s ambassador to Pakistan. Hamal told Wavemag that he didn’t talk to his father very often and that he regretted not saying goodbye to him properly every day of his life. I also ought to have tried to speak with my father in a more appropriate manner and discuss my goals and passions.
Hamal went to private school until Grade 8 and spent the majority of his early years in Nepal. He traveled to Moscow with his father when he was just a teenager. For several years, they stayed in Russia, where Hamal attended college. He earned his M.A. in English literature from the University of Delhi, where he completed his further studies.
Madhu Bhattarai, whom Hamal initially met during the 2004 Lux Beauty Pageant, is his wife. On May 14, 2014, he proposed to her, and 10 days later, they were married in a private ceremony at Kathmandu’s Hotel Annapurna. Madhu claims that although he was impressed by her talent at the pageant, she was unable to adequately respond to Hamal’s questions because she was anxious to see her favorite actor serving as a judge.
