R.S. Prasanna

Biography:

Renowned Indian director RS Prasanna made his feature film debut in 2013 with the fairly unusual Tamil romantic comedy Kalyana Samayal Saadham, which tells the tale of a guy with erectile dysfunction. The movie was a critical and financial success because of how well it was received by both the public and reviewers. In 2017, Prasanna reproduced Kalyana Samayal Saadham in Hindi as Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Anand L Rai’s Color Yellow Productions developed the Hindi version, which broke down barriers and became a huge hit. Prasanna received recognition for his technical and artistic abilities, earning him a nomination for the Zee Cine Awards’ Best Debut Director prize.

Prasanna appeared on Rajeev Masand’s Directors’ Roundtable with SS Rajamouli of Bahubali fame, and Rajeev Masand named Shubh Mangal Saavdhan one of the Top 5 movies of 2017. On A Quest, a biopic on Swami Chinmayananda Saraswathi, the educator who sparked the establishment of the Chinmaya Mission, was also produced and directed by Prasanna. The movie, which was released in 2015 on the 100th anniversary of Swami Chinmayananda Saraswathi’s birth, included amateur actors from Chinmaya Mission.
