Priya Rajkumar

Biography:

Priyadarshini Rajkumar is an Indian social worker, model, short film producer, and actress for television and cinema. Her experience has primarily been in the Tamil film and television industries. She was born in Chennai, India, to parents who are Konkani and Kashmiri, Rajkumar and C.K. Gariyali. Priya Rajkumar is another name for Priyadarshini. Her education was completed at The School-KFI in Chennai.

She then received her diploma from Kumbakonam’s Government College of Fine Arts. She made her acting debut in the television series “Premi.” Renuka played the main role in the program, which was directed by K. Balachander. Producer B. Kailasam was involved. Her job eventually took her to Australia. She married Karthikeyan Balaraman, and the two of them are parents to Keemya.

She was employed by Zurich Financial Services as well. In 2012, after her return from Australia, she made a movie debut. In the Gautam Menon-directed film Achcham Yenbadu Madamaiyada (2015), she portrayed the character of Anamika, a girl. Since then, she has acted in numerous TV shows and movies and collaborated with a number of well-known actors, producers, and directors, such as Vijay Sethupati, Silambarasan, Gautam Karthik, Priya, Sivakarthikeyan, Keerthy Suresh, Sathish, Rajendran, and Vikrant.

She has acted in some amazing films, including Tanimugan, Mr. Chandramouli, Remo, Kavan, BEEP, Ragadam, and Neeya 2. She played the role of Bhavana in the 2017 Vijay Sethupati film Kavan. Critics praised her performance, and the picture was selected as one of the top films of 2017. In addition to her premiere role in Premi, she has appeared in the television series Ramaney VS Ramaney. Her acting credits include roles in several documentaries and short films, such as Madhavi, Kummiadi, The Masculinity, Nila, Paravaigal, and Iragi Pole.

She has also worked as a social worker actively. She was appointed Secretary of the Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust, a non-profit organization. The late Smt. Indira Grayali established the trust with the goal of empowering impoverished women and children through the provision of educational programs, fund-raising, and finance.

Additionally, the Rotary Club Adambakkam awarded her the Best Woman Award. She is also one of the well-known organizers of the annual Vasant Utsav Festival of Dance, which takes place at the Kapaleeswarar Temple in May. One of her interests is classical dance, which she has studied, specifically Bharatnatyam.
