Prashanth Thiagarajan, commonly known as Prashanth, is an Indian actor who primarily works in the Tamil film industry, known as Kollywood. Besides Tamil films, he has also appeared in few Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films.
He was born on April 6, 1973, in Chennai, India. Prashanth comes from a family with a film background; his father, Thiagarajan, is a well-known actor and filmmaker.
Prior to beginning his acting career, he attended Trinity College of Music in London and studied computer graphics and multimedia. He finished high school and got accepted into two medical schools. His original plan was to become a doctor, but he ultimately chose to become an actor.
Prashanth made his acting debut in the Tamil film industry with the movie “Vaigasi Poranthachu” in 1990. However, he gained widespread recognition and popularity with his role in the film “Jeans” (1998), directed by Shankar. “Jeans” was a significant success, and Prashanth’s performance in the film was well-received.
Throughout his career, Prashanth has acted in numerous Tamil films, and he has also appeared in a few Telugu and Bollywood movies. Some of his notable films include “Kannedhirey Thondrinal,” “Majunu,” “Piriyadha Varam Vendum,” and “Thamizh.” He has received awards and nominations for his work in the Tamil film industry.
