Tikkavarapu Pattabhirama Reddy (19 February 1919 – 6 May 2006) was a pioneering figure in Indian cinema, renowned for his multifaceted talents as a screenwriter, producer, director, social activist, poet, and writer. Hailing from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, he left an indelible mark on both Telugu and Kannada cinema through his innovative and socially relevant works.
Reddy’s contributions to cinema were lauded with three National Film Awards, highlighting his exceptional talent and groundbreaking achievements. In 1972, he produced and directed “Samskara,” a landmark film that earned critical acclaim and prestigious awards, including the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and the Bronze Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival.
