Biography:
Indian actress Patralekha Paul, often known by her stage name Patralekha, was born Anwita Paul on February 20, 1990. Paul won the Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female in the drama film CityLights (2014), which marked her acting debut.
In the 2017 streaming miniseries Bose: Dead/Alive, Patralekha made an appearance. Since then, she has made appearances in the television shows Mai Hero Boll Raha Hu (2021), Aar Ya Paar (2022), IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack (2024), and the movie Nanu Ki Jaanu (2018). Actor Rajkummar Rao is Patralekha’s spouse.
In the drama CityLights, Patralekha made her screen debut alongside Rajkummar Rao. The film, which was directed by Hansal Mehta, is about a destitute couple from Rajasthan who relocate to Mumbai in quest of employment. Despite having a little budget, the movie did well at the box office. According to Hindustan Times reporter Sweta Kaushal, Patralekha “slipped effortlessly” in her role. Her Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer—Female went to the movie. Love Games, an urban thriller helmed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt, was her next movie. Patralekha portrayed a woman who had feelings for a man. It didn’t do well at the box office and got bad reviews.
