Indian film director, producer, and writer Pandiraj is active in the Tamil film industry. His 2009 feature debut, Pasanga, was also a director of several box office hits. In addition to winning five Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, he has won two National Film Awards.
Pandiraj was raised in Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu, India’s Virachilai Township, where he was born on June 7, 1976. In 1996, he relocated to Chennai after finishing school. He was employed by filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj as a “office-boy”.
He contributed a number of short stories in his early years to the well-known Tamil Bagya. His enthusiasm for filmmaking grew over time, and after overcoming obstacles, he was given the opportunity to work as director Cheran’s assistant. Later, he assisted Thangar Bachan and Chimbu Deven with six films as a director.
Pandiraj is renowned for his family action films set in rural areas. The films emphasize farming and have a strong family theme.
