Oni Sen

Biography:

Oni Sen is an Indian film maker, director and writer who works with Hindi digital entertainment. He started his career with the direction of some critically acclaimed short films and independent projects that earned him recognition due to his unique visual style and character-based storytelling. His award-winning film The Saints of Sin (2016) which was shown in several international film festivals, made him a recognized director who is good at creating emotional and psychologically deep plots.

The recognition of Oni Sen as a director came to him after he directed all the episodes of the critically acclaimed psychological crime thriller series Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side (2020–2023) by Voot that combines elements of mythological tales, forensic investigation and suspense of the serial killer story. Later he directed episodes of the romantic comedy series Out of Love Season 2 (2021) on Disney+ Hotstar and will continue his work in this sphere with another military drama Operation Safed Sagar (2026). Oni Sen is famous for his atmospheric storytelling and visually rich productions and, therefore, he can be called one of the most notable directors in India’s digital cinema.
