Indian wrestler Narsingh Pancham Yadav was born on August 6, 1989. In the men’s freestyle 74 kg division, he took home the gold medal from the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
After the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) filed an appeal against the National Anti-Doping Agency’s decision to permit him to compete even after he failed a doping test and tested positive for anabolic steroids, he was given a four-year ban and was not allowed to compete in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The National Anti-Doping Agency asserted that a competitor had tampered with Yadav’s sample.
He holds the Indian kushti title of triple Maharashtra Kesari. In 2011, 2012, and 2013, he became the first wrestler to win the title three times in a row. In 2012, he received the Arjuna Award in recognition of his services to wrestling.Narsingh Yadav is wed to Shilpi Sheoran, a wrestler.
The native of eastern Uttar Pradesh, Narsingh Yadav is the son of Pancham Yadav and Bhulna Devi. In Neema hamlet in Varanasi, Narsingh and his brother Vinod shared a home with their father Pancham and his mother. The brothers both becoming pro wrestlers. In the Indian Railways, his brother Vinod Yadav works as a ticket collector. Narsingh presently resides in the Mumbai district of Jogeshwari and has been training since he was thirteen. Narsingh works for the Maharashtra Police as a deputy superintendent of police.
