Mridula Warrier

Biography:

Mridula Warrier, a renowned South Indian playback singer hailing from Koyilandy, Kerala, marked the beginning of her musical journey as a playback singer in the Malayalam movie “Big B” in 2007. Her versatile vocal talents have also graced Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films, earning her acclaim and recognition in the Indian film industry.

Born as Mridula Varier to P. V. Ramankutty Varier and M. T. Vijayalakshmy in Kozhikode, she exhibited her musical inclination early on. At the age of four, she commenced her musical training and engaged in music competitions alongside her brother, Jaideep Varier. Mridula pursued a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from KMCT College of Engineering, completing her academic journey in 2009.

Mridula Warrier tied the knot with Dr. Arun Varier on 7th January 2013. The couple is blessed with a daughter named Maithreyi Varier, born in June 2016.

Mridula’s musical journey began to unfold through participation in television music contests during her school days. In 2004, she achieved the first runner-up position in “Saptaswarangal,” a musical contest on Asianet. The following year, she clinched the first prize in “Onnam Raagam,” a musical contest on Doordarshan in 2005.

Her remarkable talent led her to secure the 1st Runner-Up title in the fifth season of “Idea Star Singer” in 2010. Mridula Warrier’s career is a testament to her passion for music and her continuous pursuit of excellence in the realm of playback singing. Notably, she has received the prestigious Kerala State Award in 2023 and the Special Jury Award in 2014, solidifying her status as a prominent figure in the South Indian music industry.
