Mini Mathur

Biography:

Mini Mathur is an Indian television host, actor, and model who was born on August 21, 1972. For six seasons, she served as the host of the Indian Idol reality singing competition. She hosted numerous shows as a VJ on MTV India in the past. She attended IMT Ghaziabad for her MBA in marketing and her bachelor’s degree in English literature.

Most recently, she starred as the lead in the Amazon original series Mind the Malhotras, for which she won seven best actor awards for her portrayal of Shefali Malhotra. In addition to being the producer and presenter of her travel series Minime, the first season of which aired on TLC, she anchors the Discovery School Super League on Discovery India.

She also hosted the Dilli dil se talk show, which featured interviews with politicians, businesspeople, and opinion leaders. In 2007, she participated in the second season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as well.

In India, Mini is one of the most well-liked TV hosts. Her degrees in business management and English literature are from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, and Lady Sriram College, respectively.

Through IMT Campus Placement, she began her career as an advertising professional at J Walter Thompson in New Delhi. Her first game show on Indian television, Tol mol ke Bol, and numerous other modeling opportunities followed her accidental chance to be the face of Ray-Ban sunglasses. After competing in a contest where she pretended to be Simi Garewal interviewing Mamta Kulkarni, she won several additional game and quiz shows and a travel show that brought her to Mumbai, where she joined as a VJ.

Over a four-year period, MTV Mini presented concerts featuring global performers, conducted interviews with pop and cinema icons, made appearances on young campuses, offered romantic advice, and played timeless music. She hosted the UK-televised Indian culture show Bombay Blush on MTV. She hosted the show for two seasons on BBC2.

The family of Chitraguptavanshi Kayastha gave birth to Mini Mathur. She lives in Mumbai with her children, Sairah and Vivaan, and her husband, film director Kabir Khan.
