Mimoh Chakraborty

Biography:

Mimoh Chakraborty, born on July 30, 1984, also known as Mimoh, is an Indian actor active in the Hindi film industry. He is the offspring of renowned actors Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali. Mimoh, who has two brothers, Ushmey Chakraborty and Namashi Chakraborty, along with a sister named Dishani Chakraborty, made his debut as “Mimoh” in the 2008 film Jimmy. The movie, directed by Raj N. Sippy, features Mimoh in the lead role of a DJ wrongly implicated in a murder, plunging him into the criminal underworld. Unfortunately, Jimmy was met with negative reviews and proved to be a box-office failure.

Subsequent releases, namely He- The Only One (2010) and The Murderer- Hamilton Palace (2011), remained unreleased. In 2011, Mimoh starred in Haunted – 3D, India’s first stereoscopic 3D horror film. While receiving mixed reviews, the film became a commercial success, attributed in part to its impressive special effects. The following film, Loot, where Mimoh played a boy-next-door involved in a misguided heist, received mixed to negative reviews and was a box office flop.

Mimoh continued to feature in films such as Rocky (2013), Enemmy (2013), and Ishqedarriyaan (2015), all of which faced critical and commercial setbacks. In 2021, he appeared in the biographical film Main Mulayam Singh Yadav, portraying the role of Shivpal Singh Yadav, the younger brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

His upcoming projects include the thriller film Rosh, directed by Jayeveer Panghaal, and the film Jogira Sara Ra Ra, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, directed by Kushan Nandy, alongside Sanjay Mishra and Neha Sharma. In his personal life, Mimoh faced allegations in a 2020 rape case filed in Mumbai by a Bhojpuri actress. He and his mother, Yogeeta Bali, were accused, with Yogeeta alleged to have threatened the victim to settle the case. In July 2018, Mimoh married actress Madalsa Sharma. On a lighter note, Mimoh, known as meem0h, is an enthusiastic fan of Battlefield and Call of Duty, regularly streaming on Twitch.
