Megha Burman

Biography:

Actress Megha Burman is from India and works in the Tamil and Hindi cinema industries. She portrayed Razia in Sohan Roy’s Dam, which might have been inspired on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala conflict over the Mullaperiyar Dam. For “people’s safety,” Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa was requested to prohibit the film by DMK party president M. Karunanidhi. The State Government banned the movie one day prior to its planned November 25 release, citing concerns that it might sour relations between Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

In Oru Modhal Oru Kadhal, she portrayed the main character. Her movie Ballad of Rustom qualified for the 2014 Academy Awards.  She portrayed Nisha Das in the Hindi-language sports drama Panga in 2020
