He began his career in 2008 and gained notoriety for his performance in the 2013 movie Wolf, for which he won the Best Actor Golden Calf. He has gained international fame for his performances in English-language films since 2016, such as Aladdin (2019), The Old Guard (2020), and Black Adam (2022).
