Biography:

Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer Martin Prakkat specializes in Malayalam films. He is well-known for directing movies like Charlie, Nayattu, ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi, and Best Actor. Charlie and Nayattu have gained critical acclaim, and his films have won multiple awards, including the Kerala State Film Awards. Best Actor (2010), a comedy-drama featuring Mammootty as a schoolteacher who wants to be an actor, was Prakkat’s first feature film. Prakkat won the Kerala Film Critics Association Awards for Best Debut Director and the movie was a commercial success. ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi (2013), which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Aparna Gopinath, was his next film. His career as a director was further cemented by the film’s commercial success.
