Manish Malhotra, an Indian fashion designer, couturier, costume stylist, businessman, filmmaker, and revivalist, was born in Mumbai on December 5, 1966. Manish Malhotra, the founder of the label of the same name, occasionally contributed to the writing and narration of movie costumes. Malhotra won the Filmfare Award for Best Costume Design in 1996 for the movie Rangeela (1995) and the Priyadarshini Memorial Award for his contributions to the fashion industry.
Manish Malhotra has also started two new businesses: Stage5 Production, a film production company, and Manish Malhotra High Jewellery. His estimated net worth as of January 2025 is $300 million USD. In 2024 and 2025, Malhotra walked the red carpet at the Met Gala in Manhattan. In Mumbai, India, Manish Malhotra was born into a Punjabi Hindu family.
He attended Mumbai’s Sacred Heart Boys High School. He did a few modelling jobs in advertising campaigns for companies including Fu’s, Weekender, Frooti, and Goldspot while he was 19 years old and a student at Elphinstone College in Mumbai. After that, he worked for Equinox, a Bandra store, for a year, sketching and draping the mannequins. He began accepting custom couture orders from his home in 1987 after hiring two tailors. He styled Divya Bharti in a song sequence for a David Dhawan movie in 1989, but the movie was never made.
