Indian comedian, actor, director, and theatre personality Mandya Ramesh mostly works in Kannada theatre and cinema. He is the founder and secretary of the Indian theatre training institute Natana, Rangashaale, Mysore. In 1982, Ramesh began his theatrical career in a workshop led by National School of Drama alumnus Ashok Badaradinni. He began working as a performer and technician at the Neenasam Theatre Institute in 1984. After that, he joined Rangayana in 1989 and spent almost nine years working under B. V. Karanth’s supervision. He made his acting debut in 1995, costarring with Shiva Rajkumar in the movie Janumada Jodi.He established his own theatre arts school, Natana, in 2002. It is one of India’s theatre institutions with numerous functioning wings. In addition, he is the author of two books on his time in theatre, Rangavalli and Kanavarike. Janumada Jodi, Nagamandala, Kanasugara, Mata, Oggarane, Uppina Kagada, Bhajarangi 2, Devara Naadalli, The Villain, and Yajamana are just a few of the more than 350 films in which he has acted. Additionally, he has starred in television shows such as “Shreerasthu Shubhamasthu,” “Ivalu Sujatha,” Janani, Manethana, and Chi Sou Savithri.
