She received the 2024 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Tina Marrero in the comedy-drama series The Bear. Liza Colón-Zayas was born in the Bronx district of New York City in 1972 with the name Liza Colón. Her heritage is Puerto Rican. She graduated from SUNY Albany with a bachelor’s degree in drama.
