Actress Lara Pulver was born in England on September 1, 1980. She portrayed Irene Adler in the BBC TV adaptation of Sherlock and Erin Watts in the BBC spy drama Spooks. Her performance in the West End’s Gypsy revival earned her the 2016 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical.
Pulver was raised in the Kentish village of Longfield after being born on September 1, 1980, in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. Her mother converted to Judaism after they were married, while her father comes from a Jewish family. Her sister, Erika, is a teacher and four years older than her.
Between 1994 to 1998, Pulver went to the Liz Burville Dance Centre in Bexley and the National Youth Music Theatre. She enrolled at the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts in 1997 and completed her studies there in 2000.
