Kyra Sedgwick

Biography:

American actress Kyra Minturn Sedgwick was born on August 19, 1965. Her most well-known performance was as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the crime thriller The Closer (2005–2012), for which she received an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe in 2007. She also starred in the Emmy-winning television movie Miss Rose White from 1992. For her role in the 1995 movie Something to Talk About, she received a Golden Globe nomination. Among Sedgwick’s other film credits are Cameron Crowe’s Singles (1992) and Oliver Stone’s Born on the Fourth of July (1989). Additionally, she appeared frequently in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Chief Madeline Wuntch.
