Kingsley Ben-Adir

Biography:

Actor Kingsley Ben-Adir was born in the United Kingdom on November 20, 1986. Gravik in the superhero miniseries Secret Invasion (2023), Colonel Ben Younger in the BBC drama Peaky Blinders (2017–2019), private investigator Karim Washington in Netflix’s The OA (2019), and pathologist Marcus Summer in ITV’s Vera (2014–2018) are among his roles.

He played Bob Marley in Bob Marley: One Love (2024) and Malcolm X in One Night in Miami… (2020), both of which were produced by Amazon Studios and for which he received the Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Performer.

London, England’s Kentish Town is where Ben-Adir was born. Trinidad & Tobago was the home of his maternal grandparents.His last name is Hebrew, which translates to “son of the strong or mighty,” while his paternal grandparents were born in Englan. He went to Kentish Town, London’s Rhyl Street Primary School.  William Ellis School in Gospel Oak, Northwest London, was his secondary school.  In 2011, he received his degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
