Indian choreographer Kalyan has mostly worked on Tamil-language films. He started off as an actor and dancer before becoming a well-known choreographer and choreographing songs for more than 200 movies. Additionally, he served as a judge on Vijay TV’s popular reality dance series Kings of Dance and Jodi Number One.
Working as a dancer with his great-aunt Puliyur Saroja, Kalyan started his career in the film industry. After making his dancing debut in the 1987 movie Per Sollum Pillai, he collaborated with her as an assistant choreographer on other well-known Tamil movies during the 1980s. In the collegiate drama film Kalloori Vaasal (1996), which starred Ajith Kumar, Prashanth, and Pooja Bhatt, he played a bad part. Then, in S. A. Chandrasekhar’s Maanbumigu Maanavan (1996), he portrayed an antagonist against actor Vijay. After that, he mostly worked as a choreographer.
