Karothi Venkata Satyanarayana, commonly known as K. V. Satyanarayana, stands as a multifaceted personality in the realm of Indian performing arts, particularly excelling in Kuchipudi dance. Born to Venkata Ramanamma and Guruvulu in Eluru, Satyanarayana’s journey into the world of dance commenced during his college days while pursuing B. Com. His initial inspiration stemmed from Korada Narasimha Rao, sparking his interest in the performing arts. During this period, he ventured into acting, portraying diverse roles and showcasing his versatility on stage.

His dedication to the art form led him to the renowned Kuchipudi dancer Vempati Chinna Satyam, under whose guidance and training, Satyanarayana honed his skills in Kuchipudi. This apprenticeship not only provided him with technical proficiency but also instilled in him a deep understanding of the rich cultural heritage and nuances associated with Kuchipudi dance.

In a significant contribution to the field, K. V. Satyanarayana established the institutions Sri Satya Kuchipudi and Janapada Nritya Akademy.
