Cinematographer Jess Hall is from Britain. Stuart Hall, a pioneer in Cultural Studies and a former professor at the Open University, and Catherine Hall, a professor and eminent historian at University College, London, were his parents. Hall worked as a cinematographer for the first time on the Stander movie, which starred Thomas Jane. He served as director of photography for a number of British movies, such as the drama Brideshead Revisited, which garnered him a nomination for a Satellite Award, the comedy Son of Rambow, and the Edgar Wright crime comedy Hot Fuzz. The Switch (2010), 30 Minutes or Less, The Spectacular Now, and Transcendence were the first American productions that Hall worked on.
