Jennifer Arnold

Biography:

Jennifer Arnold is an American filmmaker, director, writer and producer with an Emmy-nominated body of work that spans indie film, documentary and television. Arnold broke into filmmaking directing award-winning shorts. Her documentary debut, A Small Act (2010), about a Kenyan teacher who started his own foundation to fund his students’ education, won the Humanitas Prize and garnered a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary.

Arnold went on to direct the Sundance premiered docs Tig (2015) and The Diplomat (2015) – her unique and distinctive voice in nonfiction filmmaking being celebrated among those that do.

In the realm of television, Jennifer Arnold’s resume of television episodes is extensive including American Horror Story, Shameless, The Last Man on Earth, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Emily in Paris, Atypical, P-Valley, Based on a True Story and Netflix’s XO Kitty. She was also pilot director and co-executive producer for the latter Netflix series. The recipient of many international awards, Jennifer Arnold’s versatility as both a comedic and dramatic filmmaker with an impressive documentary portfolio solidifying her to be one of today’s most important episodic TV directors with an increasingly exciting cinematic vision and deeply engaging approach to documentary-like storytelling.
