Indian actor Javed Khan Amrohi was born on March 24, 1949, and died on February 14, 2023. In the 1970s, he began performing in theatre before moving on to movies. Throughout his career, he appeared in more than 150 films and several theatrical shows. After making his acting debut in the 1973 film Jalte Badan, he continued to play supporting parts in a number of films during the 1970s and 1980s, including popular ones like Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Woh 7 Din, Tridev, and Aashiqui.
Amrohi’s most well-known performances were in the Academy Award-nominated films Chak De! India (2007), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), and Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001). Additionally, he starred in television shows including Gulzar’s Mirza Ghalib and Saeed Akhtar Mirza’s Nukkad in the 1980s as Karim, the barber. Amrohi also taught acting at the Zed Institute of Media Arts in Mumbai, which is run by Zed TV. At the age of 73, he passed away on February 14, 2023, from respiratory failure.
