Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa is an American actor who was born on August 1, 1979 . Later, he played Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of HBO’s fantasy drama series Game of Thrones (2011–2012) and Ronon Dex on the Syfy science fiction series Stargate Atlantis (2005–2009). He made his acting debut as Jason Ioane on the syndicated action drama series Baywatch: Hawaii (1999–2001). He subsequently portrayed the main characters in the science fiction series See (2019–2022) on Apple TV+ and the historical drama series Frontier (2016–2018) on the Discovery Channel.
Momoa first portrayed Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (2016–2023), but she has since made appearances in other DC Comics media. In addition, he starred in the action movie Fast X (2023), the fantasy adventure comedy A Minecraft Movie (2025), and the science fiction movie Dune (2021) as Duncan Idaho.
