Jared Leto
Biography:
American actor and singer Jared Joseph Leto was born on December 26, 1971. Over the course of a three-decade career, he has won multiple awards, including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. He is well-known for his approach to acting in a range of roles. As the leader of the rock group Thirty Seconds to Mars, he is also well-known for his musical prowess and quirky stage presence.
Leto made his film debut in How to Make an American Quilt (1995) after beginning his career on the television series My So-Called Life (1994). His performance in Prefontaine (1997) won him praise from critics. He was praised for his starring role as a heroin addict in Requiem for a Dream (2000), after supporting parts in The Thin Red Line (1998), Fight Club (1999), Girl, Interrupted (1999), and American Psycho (2000). After that, he started concentrating more on music, but he later went back to acting in films including Panic Room (2002), Alexander (2004), Lord of War (2005), Chapter 27 (2007), and Mr. Nobody (2009). He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a trans woman in Dallas Buyers Club (2013).
Leto and his older brother Shannon Leto founded Thirty Seconds to Mars in 1998. Leto serves as the band’s lead singer, multi-instrumentalist, and primary songwriter. 30 Seconds to Mars, the group’s 2002 debut album, received favorable reviews but had little economic success.[3] The band gained notoriety with its second album, A Beautiful Lie (2005), and subsequent releases, This Is War (2009) and Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013), were both critically and commercially successful.[4] America (2018) and It’s the End of the World but It’s a Beautiful Day (2023), which both divided critics when they were released, came after them. Over 15 million albums have been sold by the band globally.[5]
