Writer and columnist Jamal Watson frequently contributes to The Root and Diverse: Issues In Higher Education. Watson reported in 2001 that Charles Ogletree, a professor at Harvard Law School, and Johnnie Cochran, an attorney, were preparing a lawsuit on behalf of African slave ancestors. From 2005 to 2019, Watson was the publication’s editor, and he is still a contributing editor today.
In addition, Watson has contributed to numerous other magazines, such as USA Today, The Baltimore Sun, and the Washington City Paper. He is employed at Trinity University as a communications professor.
In addition to appearing on Fox News’ Hannity and Colmes and Nightline, Watson is a critic and a regular guest on WNYC radio, which is a National Public Radio affiliate. In addition to being quoted in a few other books and magazines, he is mentioned in Dick Morris’ best-selling book, Condi vs. Hillary. He is now finishing on a comprehensive biography of the Reverend Al Sharpton that was supposed to be released in the fall of 2021.
