Jagathy Sreekumar

Biography:

Sreekumar Achary, also known by his stage name Jagathy Sreekumar or just Jagathy, is an Indian actor, director, and playback singer who was born on January 5, 1951. Over the course of his nearly forty-year career, he has starred in over 1500 Malayalam films. He is widely recognized as one of the best actors in Malayalam film history and is renowned for playing extremely complex character roles. He is the son of renowned author and dramaturge Jagathy N. K. Achary.

For his parts in a number of films, Jagathy Sreekumar received multiple honors, including five Kerala State Film honors. In addition, he has written screenplays for two additional movies and directed two others. The locality of Jagathy in Thiruvananthapuram, where he was born, is the source of his stage name. In contrast to his persona on screen, he is an opinionated speaker with strong opinions, and his talks are still well-liked.

Jagathy was hospitalized for more than a year following a car accident in March 2012, and she is still not fully recovered from her injuries. Since the accident, his cinematic career has been put on pause.[10] With K. Madhu’s CBI 5: The Brain, Jagathy made a comeback to the big screen in May 2022. He performed the iconic role of CBI Vikram from the CBI series’ earlier movies, however he didn’t speak in the movie.
